The National Interpreter Action Network features the various ways in which author-translator Jen Hofer works with language and translation, including her translation of Myriam Moscona’s Negro Marfil/Ivory Black:

Translation is often an “invisible art,” Hofer notes. There have been times when translators are left off a book cover and numerous other instances of translators gone unrecognized. So in this context, Hofer said that she was delighted, and humbled, by the recognitions. “It made me want to go back to work, to make space for more people to do translation and to encounter work from other cultures.”
