Mrs. Porter’s : Explained
Mrs. Porter’s is a monthly women’s art salon in Los Angeles. The format is this: each participant brings an aesthetic object for Conversation. This object may be anything created or contemplated by the participant: a piece of writing, a work of visual art, a fine-honed bit of theodicy. (The making of the object is the first aesthetic experience.) Each participant presents her subject/object for a period of time not to exceed 5 minutes, the order of presentation determined by the pring of the bingo call. (The presentation is the second aesthetic experience.) Afterwards, we engage in a free-form discussion, stitching together patterns, themes, concerns, and complaints discovered during the collaging of the subject/objects. (The third aesthetic experience.)
Throughout, there will be a party.
