Read books to make more books!

Les Figues Press is made by and for people who love to read. And as avid readers, we know amazing books work magic our insides, changing how we perceive and experience language and the world. We are asking some of the best readers and biggest Les Figues lovers we know to join us in the 2015 Les Figues Read-a-thon. Reading participants read books, blog about their reading, and help Les Figues  by asking friends and family to donate to Les Figues in support of their reading.
All donations will help Les Figues Press make more books. As a nonprofit literary press, Les Figues is dedicated to publishing innovative books of poetry, prose, and translation, focusing especially on works that are too outside genre or marketing conventions to find a home elsewhere. Like this and this, or this and that and this one too.

The Read­-a­-thon is a chance to jump into your “to-read” list, while reading  in conversation with others. Your reading material of choice does not have to be Les Figues books; you can read anything your heart desires. When you finish a book (or set of books), write a blog entry to let your readers — and sponsors — know about your experience with the book.

Through sponsor donations, you can raise money with every book you read, supporting Les Figues in our efforts to bring thought-provoking, experimental new works into the literary landscape. This year’s donations will help us raise money toward printing costs for forthcoming titles, including:

There are two ways to contribute:

As a reader, you can create your own personal fundraising page and invite your friends and family to support your reading through donations to Les Figues. Your personal page is customizable, so you can keep your sponsors updated on your progress and why Les Figues is important to you.

As a sponsor, you can donate to encourage a general love of reading and ensure the continued viability of a renowned experimental press. Along with the emotional rewards of your sponsorship, Les Figues is a 501 (c)3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible.
