3:am magazine created a longlist of 2011’s best literature, magazines, films, music, and blogs. Martin Glaz Serup’s The Field was selected as one of the year’s best poetry books.

Other top picks included Teju Cole’s novel Open City; John Berger’s Bento’s Sketchbook; and Jeannette Winterson’s memoir, Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal.
