In the recent issue of The Volta‘s “In Review” section, a number of writers chose their favorite books of 2013. Lo and behold, up popped some Les Figues titles! Amaranth Borsuk included Jessica Bozek’s The Tales among her 2013 favorites and Bhanu Kapil added Melissa Buzzeo’s For Want and Sound to her list. About Buzzeo’s book, Kapil adds:

Buzzeo’s own pioneering work as part of the architecture program at Pratt—questions of renovation in particular—and her own immersion in art/film theory—make this year’s book a vital contributant to contemporary practices at the intersection of narrative, documentary, and poetic forms.
